FAQ

Q: Is the insurance compulsory?
A: Yes, there is a small premium for a minimum coverage of $1,000. Higher coverage is also available at affordable monthly premiums. Contact us to find out more on the available coverage and the respective monthly premiums.

Q: What does the insurance cover?
A: Fire, lightning and/or extraneous perils (which include water damage, theft resulting from forcible entry and other perils listed in the storage insurance application form*).

Q: Are wines covered?
A: Yes. Arising from fire, lightning and/or extraneous perils (which include water damage, theft resulting from forcible entry and other perils listed in the storage insurance application form*). We also have additional cover available for wine storage, which includes accidental breakage. Please contact us for more details.

Q: Is the compulsory insurance for each customer or each unit rented?
A: It is applicable for each of the storage units that you are renting. E.g. if you are renting two units, you will be required to purchase two compulsory insurances. In other words, two storage insurance application forms will be required.

Q: Is it compulsory for me to sign on the storage insurance application form?
A: Yes, you must sign on the insurance form. The insurance coverage will not take effect without a signed storage insurance application form.

Q: Will there be another separate policy document sent out to me?
A: No, the storage insurance application form serves as confirmation of insurance taken up.

Q: What is the excess for this insurance policy?
A: $250. This means that the first $250 of each and every claim will not be claimable.

Q: Am I allowed to increase or decrease the insurance coverage amount?
A: Yes, you are allowed to do so and will be required to sign on the endorsement form.

Q: Who do I call if there’s a claim?
A: AON Singapore. AON’s hotline numbers are indicated on the storage insurance application form which will be furnished to you during move in.
